The 1st official wacky of the season was a bit of a damp challenge to find any wind.
Initially Green Kestrel and Hunters Moon made the running due to their spinnakers, but with the breeze all but disappearing, all boats were left adrift. The elusive breeze decided to return about 8 pm, allowing Penn Player and Spanker to make up lost ground.
The beat back was a little more comfortable, with each boat choosing a different course to the finish. GK finished at 21.18, followed by HM and PP just after 21.30. Unfortunately, Spanker elected to retire in order to get back to their berth while it was still light.
Forecast looking good at the moment for next Wednesday.
