Racing Update

Thanks to the five crews that competed in the RNLI race on Saturday donating £50 to the lifeboats.   Unfortunately the breeze died away and Hunter’s Moon, Ohana and Petra had to retire but Incitatus and Argento made it round with the latter winning on the day.
Tomorrow night is the last Wacky race for July with a nice breeze and sunny spells forecast, so why not come out and enjoy the sailing as well as the medal BBQ.

Largs Regatta Week

LRW_2015Sometimes we don’t appreciate how lucky we are at TCC to have friendly, inclusive and extremely well-run sailing events taking place close by in some of the best sailing waters you could hope to find.

Talking of which, Notice of Race and Entry forms are just out for Largs Regatta Week, barely a stone’s throw up the Clyde, with fun, competive racing and all the social stuff as well.

It’s not all round the cans sausage-fests either – the Round Cumbraes and Scottish Two-Handed races mean there’s some good variety on offer, with the popular Restricted Sail classes offering all the fun without the hassle. The free breakfast for  Two-Handed crews on the last Sunday is worth getting up for as well.

If goes without saying that if we don’t continue to support these events there won’t be any to go to in a few years, and we’ll all just be sailing about on our own. Which is all fine and well if that’s what you like, but I think all our boats enjoy the company of some other boats now and again, so think of them too…
