ANOTHER GREAT MUSTER!
Seven TCC boats headed north for our now annual visit to Ardrossan – perhaps not the most adventurous of navigational exercises but being a relatively short passage it allowed plenty of time to do domestic things (eg Morrisons) in the morning before setting off and still arriving in plenty of time for pre-dinner drinks.
The 15-22kt easterly provided a spirited sail on a relatively smooth sea and most boats took their start and finish times to submit for the fast cruise award. Arran will apply the handicaps and supply the results on his return from the Scottish Series. Results will be posted on the site.
John & Catriona Haston and George & Hillary Whiteside joined us by car and we were in jovial mood at dinner in Cecchinis – great food and company. The wind continued through the night rattling halyards and the morning brought heavy showers, and thunder and lightning around lunchtime delayed a few departures. As the storm passed the wind dropped and engines were required for the homeward leg.
Many thanks to Ewan Black for his, once again, excellent organisation and to Clyde Marina for hosting us.
Participating boats were: Moody Blue, Revel, Sailfish, Rainbow Rider, Gwen Stacey, Mo Bhata and Sileas.
Next Muster is King Cross with its traditional beach barbeque on 21/22 June.
